Abbotsford Newborn Photography | In-Home Photo Shoot

As a mobile newborn and family photographer, my mission is to provide value to clients in the comfort and ease of me coming to their homes for professional, high quality photos. To me this means taking it a step further than the typical natural, un-posed lifestyle photography done in people’s homes, since I actually bring along a complete newborn studio setup so we can get all those sweet, curly poses of baby.

These types of photos involve a beanbag poser, backdrop stand, blankets, wraps, simple props, a space heater, step ladder, and various other tools to get just the right angles to capture baby’s details perfectly. Families always express how surprised they are about how much goes into it, but then completely get why once they see the photography process unfold. For family photos, this family had the perfect large empty wall with just the right proximity to window light, but for other homes I can bring along a neutral backdrop to accomplish similar results.

I’m beyond excited to share this particular newborn session, because it’s my beautiful, perfect new little niece! Her parents are my sister and brother-in-law who I’m beyond excited for as they welcome their sweet new addition to the family. She slept peacefully through pretty much all of her photos, so I was able to settle her into the sweet little poses and even dress her up a little! Her parents had some special pieces to incorporate, including the tutu you’ll see in one of the photos. Since I don’t tend to use props, I made sure the photos were in keeping with my usual style by using a soft colour palette, natural lighting, and sweet poses where baby looks comfy and cozy.

Please comment and let me know your favourite photo from her session, and share a little love on just how perfect this baby is - I already love her to pieces!
