In-Home Newborn Photography Vancouver | 1 Month Baby
As a mobile newborn photographer, I’ve had a lot of parents contact me post-Covid-19 shutdown asking to book a session for their older baby, especially as they are more comfortable with having an experienced mobile business come to their home rather than trekking to a studio during a continued time of uncertainty.
The beautiful star of this blog post, baby Malika, was born on June 4th, just days after we reopened during phase 2. Her lovely mom Jana called me four weeks later to book her session, and wasn’t aware that these photos were meant to be done in the first couple of weeks. However, I reassured her that we would capture her beautifully, even if we had to use a few extra tricks up our sleeves to get her settled for photos.
At four weeks old, yes FOUR weeks, Malika was a dream baby to photograph! I realize that we got very lucky with her, as not every baby will sleep this deeply at this age to allow us to pose her different ways. Being as familiar with babies as I am, I did use some techniques to soothe and transition her between shots.
I asked the mom how she felt about the shoot, and this was her response, which I’ve received permission to share: “You made it very easy and relaxing for me. I didn’t have to be anxious about baby’s age. This was thorough in the video chat we had in advance. Also, during the photo session we were worried about keeping baby calm. You were very patient with handling baby and swaddling her. We felt very comfortable and relaxed while you were here capturing the best moments of our life. You are very easy to work with, open to discussion and suggestions. And the results were WOW… both our families and us were more than satisfied and impressed by the photos. Thank you!”.
Thank YOU Jana for allowing me the chance to prove to you and others that YES, we CAN capture your baby beautifully, no matter her age! This may look a little different for every baby, as we work with each baby’s temperament and comfort level, but it’s better late than never to book those priceless newborn photos.
